Donna is an Indigenous Latine writer, director and artist, working in film, TV, and stage, and focused on stories of women with unusual or heroic skills, humanity, or insights. Themes include community vs isolationism, loyalty, family, genius culture and identity. Her short film, The Girl Next Door (Grand Jury Winner, Mystic Film Fest; Jury Award, Silent River Film Fest; REMI Award, Worldfest-Houston) has screened at over 59 film festivals worldwide. Her comedy mockumentary, Death of a Saleswoman is a 9-time award winner (e.g. KC FilmFest International; 7th Art Film Fest; Canada Int'l Film Fest; Portoviejo Film Fest) and sold at Cannes / AFM / Berlin markets to stream globally across major platforms. She is a dedicated community-builder for voices and artists on the fringes and those not traditionally highlighted. She works in local, regional and national arenas, and is a multi-invited artist with her own work, including NYSAF prestigious Filmmaker's Workshop, Cannes/MIPTV's Series in Development Market,, Gotham's Film Market, Stowe Story Labs and Sidewalk Narrative Labs, Sundance Collab Workshops, PageCraft Labs, FS2P Lab, Reel Sisters/ BRIC Workshops, and Slamdance Labs.
