This film is about my grandma and our family history. It wasn’t a secret that we lost an ancestral piece of property so much that it was saddening to look back on. Making this film allowed me to reframe a heartbreaking event into a more positive narrative. While touching on serious subjects, the film isn’t sad. It’s a film about a family coming together to reminisce on the past and move forward. So now, with making this film, I hope that my family, and most importantly my grandma, can move forward with only fond memories.
