Dede Harlan is a Los Angeles–based independent filmmaker, producer, director, and digital creator specializing in narrative storytelling across both traditional and emerging entertainment formats. Before entering the micro-series industry, he built a large online audience through original comedy sketches on TikTok, where his work has accumulated tens of millions of views.
Since 2024, Dede has directed more than ten micro-series. His breakout original series, My Secret Agent Husband—which he wrote, directed, produced, and edited—became one of the genre's defining titles. Widely recognized as the first LGBTQ-themed micro-series to achieve mainstream commercial success, it helped establish the BL (Boys' Love) category within the rapidly growing market. The show's success led to a second-season renewal, making it one of the first serialized micro-series franchises.
Dede’s work spans romance, comedy, thriller, and action, combining cinematic visuals with emotionally engaging storytelling while maximizing efficiency in fast-paced productions. Passionate about accessible, commercial storytelling, he creates character-driven stories that connect with audiences across evolving digital platforms.
