Cjay Boisclair is an award winning filmmaker from Kamloops, BC. First introduced to the film world when Power Rangers shot on location, she instantly fell in love with the industry, quickly moving into acting and production.
Her debut short script, The Bench (2018), garnered numerous nominations and awards at film festivals around the world.
Following on the heels of this success was Cjay's second script, Stood Up(2019), which won funding and mentor-ship from the Women in the Director's Chair (WIDC) Short Works Award. Debuting at the St.John's International Women's Film Festival and enjoying a robust film festival run, Stood Up has been accepted into more than 77 film festivals internationally with over 48 awards/nominations (as of July 31st, 2020).
In early 2020, Cjay expanded her short film, The Bench, into a feature. Born of lived experience, she weaves an authentic tale of a young girl battling homelessness while facing the pressures of school, family, and the loss of innocence.
As well as owning Askem Productions, Cjay and her husband Duane also own and operate Askem Talent, a talent agency serving the Interior and Okanagan of BC since 2018. In July 2020 Askem Talent expanded into the Lower Mainland.
Cjay is proud Alumna of Women in the Director's Chair, a recipient of the Banff Spark initiative, and member of WIFTV.
