Missing First Period, centers around a week in the life of a high school senior, Orion, as she competes for a once-in-a-lifetime scholarship while simultaneously facing the threat of homelessness. As someone who was homeless throughout their entire high school career, I experienced firsthand the impact of this topic being swept under the rug and stigmatized. This is not just my story or a part of my past. It represents a collective story of the millions of other youth who experience homelessness each year in the US. To me, this is an attempt at a conversation.
