He was trained in color retouching and photographic techniques at a graphic arts trade house in NYC serving Madison Avenue ad agencies. He then moved on to architectural photography, video, and drone-aerial work before starting his documentary film company in Arizona, Desert Horse Media, LLC. John has produced and directed two feature documentary films with distribution: Horse Heroes (2021) and Saving The Ice (2024). He is working on his third feature documentary.
