I am emerging level Canadian documentary filmmaker and a medical/surgical nurse. I love to create films about passionate, often creative, inspiring people with my last film winning the Audience Choice Award at Belleville Downtown DocFest. I studied Film Theory at York University in Toronto, Canada and graduated in 2007. Thereafter I have enjoyed creating films independently but feel that I am lacking the knowledge to take my films to a professional level and am looking for courses and workshops now to fill in the blanks. Due to a chronic illness that has left me physically disabled and waiting for diagnosis I have been unable to work as a nurse for the last year. I feel like life is pushing me towards my first love; filmmaking. I am armed with a new doc idea and ready to learn!
