Bennett Curran - Sundance Collab

Bennett Curran is an actor, filmmaker, and producer based in Burbank, California. His University of Arizona senior capstone documentary, 'California is Burning,' won a Special Jury Mention for Best Student Documentary at Palm Springs International ShortFest and screened in Best of Fest. His films have been featured by Kodak and awarded grants from ASCF and CREDO 23. He founded his production company, Flourishing, to exclusively connect artists and brands with the power of motion picture film. In a poetic story of resilience, Altadena residents and first responders recall the damages and response after the Eaton Fire burned their historic community.The short documentary includes interviews with the Pasadena Fire Department, California National Guard, and Pasadena Humane Animal Evacuation Center.Shot on 16mm film without synch sound, the cross-processed negatives create a visual language of soot, which cycles themes of transformation and loss.
