Nanna & Nia Excerpt (A Dialogue Exercise)

Creator: Anna Robins
For a Masterclass I'm taking we were asked to write a scene with two characters to practice writing dialogue. I chose to do a scene for a film idea I have. I haven't written anything else for the film. I would love feedback on my dialogue!More about the film idea: When a recent college graduate (Nia) can't find work in her field, her windowed grandmother suggests hitting the road full-time... together. #vanlife! I want to play with the idea that traveling and adventuring is a growing trend for young adults AND single older women, but for different reasons. I'm thinking in the vein of an indie-comedy.About the scene in the script: The family is gathered together for a 4th of July reunion and Nia is facing a storm of questions from relatives about her future. She finds a quiet spot to think about her direction.
