Anna Gustavsen

Director, Actor, Writer

Montclair, New Jersey, United States

Anna Gustavsen has always been pulled between two worlds. In high school, it was hopping in the car after technical theater to play in NYC's indie short film scene. In college, it was pursuing dual degrees in film and performing arts, balancing rehearsal for SCAD's 2024 Acting Showcase with pre-production for Grog. It was getting her start as an actor that sparked a curiosity in the other side of the lens– the unifying factor being her deep love for working with other actors. In her time at SCAD, she contributed to over 30+ short films, workshops, and professional productions wearing a myriad of different hats. Prior to directing her own thesis, Anna directed SCAD costume capstone Persinette, which is a coming-of-age movie in it's own right– despite it being a victorian-era exploration of Rapunzel's french folklorian roots. She's passionate about green filmmaking as well as getting as many women on set as possible. Grog is a proud recipient of Women in Media Incorporated's Parity in Action badge, as well as a current quarter-finalist for The Chimaera Project's TO.GET.HER initiative.
