My film is about an old man nearing the end of his life realising that he hasn't encountered a single solitary moment of true profundity. And so in a way, he is dead already. Dead, but not dead. Dying to Live, Living to Die. Until he encounters a streetside flute player. In that commonplace hymn of that commonplace man, he finds such seismic poetry that it moves him and with that feeling he can now peacefully depart this life. I'm afraid of being that man, of losing touch with the poetry of life...of destitution...Seeking to be moved, I confess so...
