A year into what is frequently called a “livestreamed genocide” in Gaza, WITH A LOT OF SORROW attempts to reckon with the dynamics of power which emerge in the process of watching other people’s pain in near real time. The film gives poetic voice to student voices whose daily media consumption is defined by this process of looking at other people’s pain, and explores how the internet affects the way we see and respond to violence.
