Lena Li, a young Chinese American table tennis prodigy, is close to qualifying for Nationals. As a daughter to Chinese immigrants, she stops at nothing short of greatness, a trait that is inherited from her part-time father and table tennis coach, Andrew Li. Lena must do anything in her power to win...even if it means deceiving the people she loves. Driven by a mixture of familial pressure and ambition, her deception threatens to unravel the relationship with her father and grandmother, Yang—setting the stage for a dramatic clash of dreams, ethics, and family bonds.

Tiffany Liu is a filmmaker born and raised in Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, with a deep love for stories that reflect her Chinese heritage and uplift AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) representation. She’s currently a senior at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, double majoring in Communication and Cinematic Arts with a focus in Digital Cinema. As an Asian American and daughter of hardworking immigrants, Tiffany is drawn to storytelling as a way to explore identity, family, and belonging. Her films have screened at multiple film festivals such as the Hawaiʻi International Film Festival. Currently, she is a HIFF Next Gen Filmmaking Fellow and is a participant of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival Film Studies Program. When she’s not behind the camera, you’ll find her scribbling script ideas or developing short and feature-length screenplays.
