Tiffany Liu is a filmmaker born and raised in Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, with a deep love for stories that reflect her Chinese heritage and uplift AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) representation. She’s currently a senior at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, double majoring in Communication and Cinematic Arts with a focus in Digital Cinema.
As an Asian American and daughter of hardworking immigrants, Tiffany is drawn to storytelling as a way to explore identity, family, and belonging. Her films have screened at multiple film festivals such as the Hawaiʻi International Film Festival. Currently, she is a HIFF Next Gen Filmmaking Fellow and is a participant of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival Film Studies Program.
When she’s not behind the camera, you’ll find her scribbling script ideas or developing short and feature-length screenplays. Her long-term goal is to write, direct, and produce feature films that make people feel seen, laugh, and maybe cry a little, too.
