I am Maximum Brauch, a filmmaker from Toronto, Ontario, currently living in Montréal. I have been making films since I was 10 years old. I studied filmmaking in high school at Etobicoke School of the Arts, where I wrote scripts, shot, directed, edited, and even scored my own films as I fell in love with the art of cinema. I gained experience working on film and television sets before studying film production at Concordia University in Montréal. Throughout this time I have made small documentary, experimental, narrative films, and music videos, and formed a close-knit, diverse creative team of collaborators. All of my work takes place within Canadian life, which I seek to shine a cinematic spotlight on by creating narratives that reflect our country's diverse cultural and societal nuances. I want to specifically depict the intricacies of young-adult Canadian life in poetic, slice-of-life stories that can represent a New Wave of Canadian cinema made by and for young people. more...
