Vidrìi Tr'atłoo is a music video/visual poem composed and performed in Dinjìi Zhuh K'yàa, the Gwich'in language. There are less than 300 fluent speakers left in the world of my language and I am one of the youngest speakers. Speaking my language has been a privilege and I have felt that it is a responsibility to share what I have learned (language, culture, worldview) in order to empower more Indigenous language speakers to continue their language journeys. This short is my first film and I poured all my love into it. Singing, performing, and telling a story of Indigenous grief.
