Vestige Piece is a meditation on the boundaries of my body. At that young age I was still unsure about my edges and limitations; I danced and spun in an attempt to understand my being in context. In some ways, I’m still trying to identify where my body ends and my environment begins. Vestige Piece contains analog 16mm footage I shot in Schimatari, Greece, where my Yia-Yia was raised. I hand-processed this footage using my own eco-developer solutions of plant matter, foraged on-site. Other sequences employ a technique called Phytography, allowing for spontaneous interactions between plant chemistry and photographic emulsion.
