About this submission

In Brooklyn, NY, 25-year-old Imani Prescott is a young black woman juggling her declining mental health and a quarter-life crisis. After turning to therapy for answers and receiving some harsh truths, she indignantly takes on clients as an underground and unlicensed therapist to prove them wrong.

The Unlicensed and Unstoppable series explores mental health and close relationships as support circles. Using therapy as a vehicle for raw, unfiltered emotion and anthology-style episodes to showcase the good and bad ways we find support, we see the need for introspection and safe spaces.
