Having been an after school kid myself, it struck me that while those programs had been foundational to my idea of growing up in America, I had yet to see the chaos and humor from that time reflected in any modern movies. At the same time, I'm now roughly the same age as the counselors who looked after me. It's this very precise, awkward dynamic between a caretaker dealing with his own shortcomings and the rebellious spirit after-school inspires that I wanted to document: f-bombs, and all.
