Since I emigrated to America, a blanket of tension and stakes has overcast my life and decisions, especially now. I worry about optimizing my time because I fear I'm running out of it. So I wrote a story the opposite of my lived experience; characters unencumbered by stakes. Inspired by Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead by Tom Stoppard, and the genre of absurdism, I aimed to capture the nonsense that fills being alive now and then. As a goal-oriented individual, it’s been cathartic to write something intentionally avoiding conventional structure. Just friendship and the joy of being on a journey.
