The Sunbaker has been living in the back of my mind for years.
I grew up with Max Dupain’s iconic photograph 'The Sunbaker' in my home. As a child, I saw it as serene, nationalistic, beautiful. As I got older, I began to notice the unease buried beneath its simplicity. That image became a quiet obsession, and this film is my response to it. A story of what it means to look, and what it means to be seen. The Sunbaker is a reckoning - the blurry space between curiosity and entitlement.
