I chose to tell the story of Shougang because I am fascinated by how physical spaces archive human labour and ambition. Coming from Kolkata, a city defined by its own layers of industrial history and decay, witnessing Shougang’s radical metamorphosis into a digital ecosystem felt like a glimpse into a parallel future. I was drawn to the transition from the tactile heat of iron and fire to the invisible energy of innovation. My goal was to create a sensory meditation on time, focusing on architecture and people, exploring how a city honours heritage while reinventing its soul for future.
