Magic Trick comes from my own teenage struggle with rules and the desire for freedom. I often felt torn between who I was and who I was expected to be. Jenna, the lead, is inspired by my experiences, facing both the thrill and consequences of breaking free. Inspired by the essence of Joker, who completely rejects rules, and the intimacy of Euphoria, I wanted to create a heightened, slightly dreamlike world. The film lives between realism and fantasy, reflecting how teenagers experience emotions in extremes, where authority can feel like a villain, even when the truth is more complex.
