The story I chose is deeply meaningful, not only as my first professional short documentary after years of using just my phone, but also for its narrative and personal significance. It began as a class project during a documentary fellowship, inspired by Yoruba culture’s reverence for the head as divine—the seat of destiny. Growing up in Lagos, I watched people carry goods on their heads daily, balancing survival and, perhaps, their futures. I wanted to explore this act beyond poverty, delving into sacrifice, beauty of everyday struggles. This film reflects my passion for uncovering profound truths in the mundane.
