The film came from a deeply personal place, inspired by my grandmother’s experience with dementia. At first, it felt like I was losing our memories together, and I was focused on my own grief. But over time, I realized never considered what it must have felt like for her. So many stories about dementia center on the heartbreak of the family, but rarely the inner experience of the person who’s changing. This film isn’t just about dementia as a condition. It’s about the first minutes of loneliness and realizing something is happening inside you before everyone else can see it.
