When I first came to America as an international student, I was deeply affected by the commercialization here (surprisingly, given that I came from Dubai). If I wanted to go grocery shopping, I would be bombarded with the sheer number of brands and products that would actually make me feel dizzy. This would make me just buy what I get in my hands. I never expected the physical and mental toll it would have on me, even when I shop for basic necessities. This experimental short came from that frustration of unsanctioned sensory overload.
