TV Writing: Episodic TV (Level 1) (Oct. 2019)

Angela LaManna grew up in Syracuse, New York. She was an English major at The University of Texas at Austin, where she took courses in creative writing for fiction, poetry and screenwriting.

She worked in the nonprofit sector as well as a story producer for reality TV before she landed her first television gig as the showrunner’s assistant on HANNIBAL. She sold her first script that same year to A&E. Her credits include CHANNEL ZERO, MARVEL’S THE PUNISHER, the upcoming British limited series BEHIND HER EYES for Netflix and THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR (THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE season two).

Nate Crocker has been many things: a middle school teacher, an AmeriCorps volunteer, amateur boxer, college swimmer, a lifeguard, unemployed for long stretches of time, and most importantly a screenwriter. Nate grew up in Evanston, Illinois, and graduated from Colorado College with a degree in English. Nate also did a year of service with AmeriCorps in inner city Baltimore. It was the most challenging and rewarding year of his life. After AmeriCorps finished, Nate went onto the American Film Institute and graduated with an MFA in screenwriting. While at AFI, he received the Hewlett Packard Scholarship. Since then his scripts have been named finalists in the Slamdance screenwriting competition, the Gimme Credit Short Screenplay Competition and he was selected to participate in the inaugural Episodic Story Lab at the Sundance Institute, with his pilot, SCAR TISSUE. Currently Nate is a story editor on REPRISAL for Hulu. Previously he staffed on Sony Crackle’s START UP and prior to that was on Starz’s hit series ASH VS. EVIL DEAD.

Kristin Belka Maier is a writer with experience in television, film, and digital media. She was a staff writer on IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA where she fostered a relationship with RCG Productions and FX. Previously, Kristin worked alongside veteran television writer Michael J. Weithorn while he produced and developed for 20th Century Fox, The Mark Gordon Company, ABC Studios, FX, and Comedy Central. 

Before relocating to Los Angeles, she worked for THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN. Kristin also writes branded entertainment for Scary Mommy and Snapchat. She is currently in development with two half-hour projects and a feature film. Kristin was raised on Bruce Springsteen, the television, and hopeless romanticism. She’s a proud native of the Jersey Shore, but happily lives in Los Angeles with her family, and only sometimes misses New York.

Jeremy was 14 years-old when he realized that his Mormon bishop could not, in fact, read his mind during priesthood-worthiness interviews. From there, after over 30 years of unravelling the web of illusory doctrine, he still wonders if this last cup of coffee will be the one that shepherds his soul to hell. It took getting stabbed in the face the first week on the job at a detention center, for Nielsen to realize he could only do that job for another eight years. Jeremy logged thousands of miles in the back of a 1985 Ford Econoline van, touring the country playing music, then pivoted to the movie business as a Gaffer and Cinematographer. He currently resides on the barren plains of rural Wyoming.

Jeremy is a SUNDANCE EPISODIC TELEVISION WRITING LAB FELLOW. He is currently the Director of Photography for STRANGERS IN THEIR OWN LAND and NOWHERE MAN AND A WHISKEY GIRL for Christopher Charles Scott and Strategery Films/Shoplifter (CLASS ACTION PARK on HBOMax). Jeremy is also a Sundance Collab Advisor. His pilot script TICKER won the NEW YORK TELEVISION FESTIVAL and was a finalist at the AUSTIN FILM FESTIVAL. Listed on the 2018 Young and Hungry Screenwriters list, Jeremy acknowledges that only one of those descriptors remains true.
