I chose to tell this story to honor my intense feelings of isolation and grief I felt during a hot summer in Mississippi. I felt as if I needed to tell a story to escape the mundane and monotonous life I was living, but in turn, I ultimately let those feelings shine through in this short film. In the end, "Sweetheart" is a tribute to the LGBTQ+ community and the ache that comes with queer love.
