Somatic

I wanted to make a film that both acknowledged the heaviness of abortion, and the casualness of it. In a time where it's becoming more criminalized, I wanted to share a story that emphasized the experience, and social dynamics, rather than the decision process. This was an incredibly personal story to me, and upon writing the script I met other young women who had chosen to get abortions. The common thread was always their friendships, and their own unexpected emotions about the aftermath.
