Maya Kimble is a writer, director, and editor from Madison, Wisconsin. She recently graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a Master of Fine Arts in Cinema & TV Directing. ‘Shirker,’ her thesis film, reflects on class and gender barriers in the entertainment industry and explores financial desperation related to student loan debt. She is passionate about creating evocative, feminist work with themes of liberation, identity, and reclaiming power. Maya aims to share stories that authentically resonate and to examine intersectionality through the lens of satire, dark comedy, and drama.
