About this Video
This is a story about holding on amidst collapse, and searching in the midst of being lost. I aim to build both the physical and psychological landscape of a Chinese family through the distinctive spaces and climate of southern Chinese cities—stifling factories, humid canals, and sudden torrential downpours. By closely following the characters with the camera, I want to explore how the human spirit teeters on the edge of fragmentation amidst life's hardships and emotional ruins, and where it finds its anchor when caught between the pressures of the times and the struggles of everyday life.
