I chose to tell this story to offer a new and more tender perspective on Black childhood—one rooted in happiness, nostalgia, and emotional richness rather than the violence and street narratives that are so often foregrounded. Through memory, color, and intimate moments, the film reflects on identity and belonging in a way that celebrates joy, innocence, and the beauty of lived experience.
