Motoka, a young Korean-Japanese photographer, returns to Seoul for her grandmother’s funeral. Once uprooted by a traumatic experience that severed her bond with Korea, she wanders through Jongno, moving through historic streets. She encounters poems, memories, and old photographs, facing the shame, prejudice, and silence that shaped her childhood. A chance encounter with an anti-Japanese gallerist forces her to question whether identity must be singular or whether scattered, seeping roots can bloom just as brightly. Through this encounter, Motoka discovers a quiet, emerging place where her two fractured worlds can finally coexist, allowing her to finally find her place.
