This film explores the phases of womanhood and how feminism and resistance take on new nuances at the intersection of female ambition and generational trauma. Inspired by Gillian Wearing’s Self Made (2010), I employ a process that blurs fiction and non-fiction, aiming to reach a universal audience through simple storytelling. The film stands as a testament to how the filmmaking process can be as political and impactful as its end product. Through this work, my mother received another chance to pursue her dreams, and I hope it urges us to ask: if given a second chance, how would we live?
