One of the most complex and luminous bonds within a household is that between a mother and a daughter. My mum and I have often been each other’s confidants and allies, yet we haven’t always extended grace to one another.
Through Salt, I wanted to explore this boundary of grace. How generational differences can foster a sense of assumed superiority. How, even as progressive women, we are not immune to perpetuating the biases we detest.
This is not a critique of a mother’s choices, but a confession from a daughter.
