I grew up in the Nashville area, and when I saw the prompt for this Karaoke Throwdown challenge, my mind went to the hopes and dreams of so many aspiring country music singer/songwriters who flock to that city. It takes a lot of courage and sacrifice to follow a dream. But it's not always glamorous. And not everyone can make it. This scene was my attempt to explore when it might be time to give up and what a moment of facing that kind of realization might look like.

I'm a Brooklyn-based writer/director/actor. I've written a feature film, SCATTERING JAKE, that I'm currently packaging with my producing partners and hope to direct. The script was a Nicholl Quarterfinalist, WeScreenplay second place winner, and Final Draft Big Break finalist. I graduated from the film program at NYU/Tisch, and my short thesis film "Too Sunny for Santa" (starring Natalia Dyer, now in STRANGER THINGS) screened at festivals across the country. With my comedy writing partner Corinne Caputo, I co-created and starred in a comedic web series about ghosts (LIFE, AFTER) that was featured as a streaming pick of the day in A.V. Club.
