Stalker is a film that was born from the sensation of feeling watched in secluded spaces. The main character is nameless and so is the stalker. He’s searching for a book in these endless library stacks, and it feels like the shelves are alive. The only sound is a mix of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and Moussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain— fitting the film's uncanny suspense. He hears noises, sees things, but can’t tell if it’s real or if he’s just losing it. He is. And when he finally finds whatever it was that was stalking him-it doesn’t end well.
