I chose to tell this story because lowrider culture represents far more than automobiles; it is a living artistic tradition rooted in history, family, and resistance. At a moment when immigrant communities face increasing political scrutiny, this film offers an intimate portrait of how cultural expression becomes a means of preserving identity and asserting belonging. By focusing on the Chicano community, who build and drive these cars, I aim to honor a systemically underrepresented group whose creativity and resilience continue to shape the American cultural landscape.
