A film based on the Rock Springs Chinese Massacre of 1885 - following two Chinese miners the day preceding the tragedy.


Creator
David Huang is a nonfiction and fiction director/writer, focused on telling stories from the AAPI diaspora. His short documentary, Re-Opening, commissioned by the Asian American Documentary Network, was acquired by PBS World Channel for upcoming broadcast. He is also currently in pre-production on multiple commercial projects, including a branded documentary for the United Nations and Sanctuary for Families, focusing on five domestic survivor leaders from each world region and their direct experience with femicide and domestic violence. He is the inaugural recipient of the Kyoko Arai Fund and HEAR US Grant program for his narrative thesis short film, Rock Springs, centered on the Wyoming Chinese Rock Springs Massacre of 1885.
