In line with what artists and big personal inspirations Hans Hofmann, Rick Rubin, or D.T. Suzuki would say, I'm not so sure this instance of artistic expression was chosen by me--rather it found me. I told this story when I did because I felt like I had no other choice; whether taken from the grander cosmic fabric and viewed from a local lens of youthful queer discovery, pre-college hometown separation anxiety, or nostalgic suburban yearning, it all meant something to me, and as a result I trusted in that fact enough for it to mean something to others as well.
