This music video emerged from multiple conversations with female friends and family members about the fear of being confined to the ‘female’ role in a romantic relationship or long-term partnership. ‘Ragni’ means ‘spiders’ in Italian, and echoing Louise Bourgeois’s spider sculpture ‘Maman’, I used spiders as a metaphor for the duality of motherhood, as both a beautiful and entrapping thing.
