3:44am, the fire alarm is blaring and voices outside are in a panic. As a resident advisor this was the tip of the iceberg for what I was an expected to manage. Heightened with being a resident advisor during the pandemic, let’s just say I dealt with way more than the scope of work I initially signed up for indicated. RA On Call is an ode to my time as a resident advisor heightened by the endless ways things can unfold on a college campus.

David grew up playing the most imaginative games with his friends and truthfully I don’t think he’s ever let go of this tether to the unseen realm- his imagination. Originally from Miami, Florida, David grew up navigating being Cuban and Haitian. To him being Black/Hispanic were one in the same but as he got older it encouraged conversations about one’s identity. His multicultural upbringing encouraged a curiosity to explore our humanity and the world around him. David just graduated from the NBCUniversal Page Program where he spent time in Universal Pictures Film Development and Universal Television Production. Currently he is in Post for a short film through Color Creatives Find Your People Program and completing his writers fellowship through Mike Gauyo’s Black Boy Writes/ Black Girl Writes. Currently, David is Coordinator on the NBCU LAUNCH team.
