Why do we work jobs we hate, and why do we destroy things we love? As a former cellist, I wanted to explore this dilemma through a character struggling to accept his boring life while being distracted by the allure of a cello.

The decision to light the film with only candles came from a mixture of inspiration from Barry Lyndon and an ambition to recreate a Victorian-era mansion in Austin, Texas. By using solely candlelight, we were able to selectively show parts of the location (an otherwise regular Texas home) and create an atmosphere that extended beyond our limitations.
