I grew up in an insulated Orthodox Jewish community where the religious clergy have a considerable influence over the education and moral upbringing of the youth. I was witness to both amazing leaders who guided the community with grace as well as those who let the power infect them. Plead for Sodom is a cautionary tale about the dangers of a religious leader with his own agenda; to manipulate scripture as a weapon to retain power. The result is catastrophic moral decay that spreads from the elders of the community down to the children.
