Phonebooth is an ode to connection and conversation. In elementary school, my stutter was so overwhelming I barely spoke until middle school. Around 5th grade, I started studying conversation – how it moves, pauses, and how it makes two people look like one.
I chose to tell Phonebooth because I’m still obsessed with that space between people: the awkwardness, the humor, the fear, the tenderness. I know what it’s like to be on the outside of a conversation, so I want to make something intimate and real enough that it feels like you’re on the other end of the line.
