About this submission

I was inspired to make a film that explores eating disorders through a comedic lense, in an effort to make the subject matter more accessible to an audience. I also wanted to differentiate from the better-known 'first moon parties' which are typically associated with a young girl getting her first period.

The story stemmed from my struggle with anorexia for several years and how, during that time, I imagined having a party to celebrate regaining my period. The film is also a love letter to my motley crew of a family who I take great pleasure in observing.
