Taking place across one sweltering summer afternoon in rural America, Pansies follows Caleb, a young boy locked in a secret relationship with Logan Balfe. After Logan threatens to thrust their secret into the outside world, Caleb desperately makes a grab for control over their relationship, despite the lines he may cross and how it may affect his relationship to both Logan, and the world around him.
An exploration of the American Faggot, and the intersection of queerness, intimacy, violence, and masculinity within working-class America.

Jamie Simiele is a queer writer and director based in Westchester County, NY. Currently a senior at the Purchase Conservatory of Film and Media, he collaborates with other emerging filmmakers as a producer and assistant director.
Growing up in a small, conservative town in Upstate NY, Jamie’s filmmaking explores and amplifies the voices of the "American Mongrel"— queer individuals who have navigated the challenges of low-income rural Americana and redefined the American dream.
