Fiona rides the CTA alone, lost in a haze. Across from her sits an unknown girl, onto whom Fiona projects fleeting romantic desire, imagining a vivid world of shared intimacy. Fleeing the bleakness of her reality and driven by an urgent search for a place to call home, Fiona descends deeper into fantasy, seeking refuge atop towers of mattresses in barren cornfields and disorienting, vividly colored waters. Eventually, the dream dissolves: the girl exits the train, leaving Fiona alone, suspended between longing and isolation.
