The filmmaker writes a coming out letter addressed to their estranged alcoholic father. Part memoir, part critical theory, this essayistic film reflects on a history of family images in order to break free from them.

Born in Concord, North Carolina and raised on the Avett Brothers. Grant is an Alum from the UNC School of the Arts Filmmaking program. They were a production intern at the 2018 Sundance Directors Lab and a Driver at the 2019 Sundance Theater and Producers Lab. Grant has written and directed several short films: "Pigeonhearts" (2016) starring Academy Award Nominee Lucas Hedges, "Where Mothbloods Bloom" (2017) - Austin Film Festival, Finalist for the 2018 Sundance Ignite Challenge, now available on the PBS program Film School Shorts. "Alma" (2018) Indie Grits Film Festival 2019, Winner of Best Narrative Short Film at the Visions 9 Film Festival, and now available on Nobudge.com They are a board member of OUT at the Movies Festival in Winston Salem, North Carolina and apart of the education staff at the Telluride Film Festival.
