In my childhood, my parents often told “kind” lies to shield me from the harsh realities, a way for them to escape their sufferings under the power of oppression. Experiencing different cultures during growth, I realize that the truths under the pains are universal: the vulnerable are exploited for the same reasons, the structures of the systems are built for the same sake, and there’s no wonderland unless we confront darkness fearlessly. With these in mind, I made this absurd political satire film. If there is no radical justice and revolt, history’s bloodshed will repeat.
