After discovering the occult/victorian horror genre, the themes and atmosphere stuck in and gnawed at the back of my mind until I finally wrote a short story to express my own take on the genre. Once an opportunity presented itself to adapt that story (at least a part of it), I was inspired to push myself into a new medium I had never worked in before. I always work to push myself past what I've done before and to learn and grow with each project, and I think this story is a perfect example of that.
